Beyond What We Imagine: Living Out God’s Abundant Power (Eph. 3:20)
What a powerful reminder Ephesians 3:20 is! It assures us that the God we serve is not limited by our understanding or our circumstances. His power, working in and through us, is far beyond anything we could ask, think, or dream. Isn’t that incredible?
Life can sometimes feel uncertain or overwhelming, and in those moments, we may wonder if God will truly provide, guide, or meet our needs. But this verse encourages us to remember that God’s love for us is unfailing. No matter what we’re facing, we can count on Him to be with us, offering the strength we need to navigate our challenges and helping us emerge stronger than when we first encountered them.
It’s not just His desire to bless us, but to use us to bless others. God’s love in us is meant to overflow—not just for our own benefit, but so that we can be a source of encouragement, kindness, and hope to those around us. As we reflect His love, He can touch the lives of others in ways far beyond what we could have ever imagined.
My husband once shared a story with me about a man he worked with. For two years, this man would go out of his way to tell inappropriate jokes. Every time, my husband would respond with kindness, never engaging or laughing, but simply treating him with respect in other areas at work. He was patient, long-suffering, and prayed for this man regularly.
After two years, the man came to my husband and asked what was different about him. That opened the door for my husband to share his faith, and right there on the construction site, he was able to lead this man to the Lord. This man, who had once been rude and disrespectful, brought his entire family to church and was completely transformed.
Sometimes our mission field is right where we work. We don’t have to be a full-time preacher or teacher to reach others for Christ. All we need is to be available, willing, and obedient, and the Lord will guide us the rest of the way.
So today, take heart knowing that God is working in your life. He wants to bless you abundantly—not just for your own sake, but so that you can be a blessing to others.
