Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine! (Josh. 1:9)

One of my favorite Bible Scriptures that has been a source of strength for me over the years is Joshua 1:9: “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that we are never alone. In times of rejoicing, uncertainty, or even grief, we can take comfort in knowing we aren’t walking it alone. The Lord is always by our side, providing the strength and courage we need to face whatever comes our way. His unwavering love and support are a source of true comfort and assurance.

In the hymn Blessed Assurance there are lyrics that go, “blessed assurance Jesus is mine…” and “This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.” What a blessing that we have that assurance that Jesus is always with us. Each day presents moments when we need to be strong, whether it’s facing challenges at work, navigating relationships, or simply driving in traffic. How comforting it is to know that, in every situation, we have the assurance that the Lord is with us wherever we go.

Be encouraged and know that your continued dedication profoundly impacts the lives of those you lead. You may not always see the depths of each of your Sunday School congregant’s needs, but your willingness to exemplify Christ’s love will inspire them to grow in their faith. Remember, you aren’t doing it alone!
