Our Call to Share Christ’s Love (Matt. 9:37-38)

In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” These words remind us that the mission to share Christ’s love is never-ending. Every hour, children are born into this world, each with the potential to learn about the extraordinary love and salvation of Jesus Christ. But the task of reaching them requires all of us.

As Christians, we are called to share the love of Christ and the truth of His Salvation with everyone around us. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few…” This isn’t just a distant call for some future moment or only applicable when you go on a mission trip; it’s a daily responsibility. Each day offers opportunities to witness, serve, and share the good news. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

What makes this task so special? For one, it promises eternal rewards. Unlike any earthly job, the work we do in God’s kingdom yields dividends that last forever. It’s a calling that you never retire from. And as you pour into the lives of others, you experience a joy that far surpasses any earthly accomplishment. The work of the Lord not only blesses you but creates a ripple effect, blessing the lives of those you minister to and those they, in turn, will reach.

But this mission requires prayer. Jesus tells us to ask the “Lord of the harvest” to send workers into the field. We must pray that God compels us and others to act, trusting the Holy Spirit to empower our efforts.

What a privilege it is to be called to such an eternal purpose! As you go about your daily life, remember you are part of a grand mission that spans generations. Each life you touch and every soul you share Christ’s love with adds to an unbreakable chain of ministry that extends into eternity.

The harvest is plentiful, and the workers are needed. Let us be faithful in prayer and action, knowing that the rewards are eternal, and the joy is beyond measure.
