Description
This is a one-week intensive course offered year-round and focusing on conducting research and using scholarly sources in APA Style.
APA Style is required in most Social Sciences courses (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Social Work, Criminology, Political Science) and is also common in Health Professions (Nursing, Allied Health), Business and Engineering.
This course is focused on APA formatting of in-text citations, the Reference page, and general settings for the title page and body paragraphs. To learn the research process from beginning to end, students are encouraged to enroll in Writing about Current Events: Managing Media in a Hyperconnected World as an accompanying course.
In this one-week intensive, skills taught include:
- finding primary and secondary sources
- incorporating source materials into your text
- acknowledging sources and avoiding plagiarism
- documentation
- APA in-text documentation
- APA References
